Now is the time!
Now is the time to live into the vision Paul offered to his church plants at Colossae and Galatia: a community with neither Jew nor Greek, neither slave nor free, all one in Christ.
I’m an Anglo woman in my sixties, well-accustomed to worship among Episcopalians and Lutherans – faith traditions that originated in the Reformation in Northern Europe. I treasure these beloved communities but my heart is always looking toward the church of Paul’s vision, no longer Jew or Greek, no longer slave or free, no longer male or female, for all are one in Christ.
Enacting Paul's vision is an urgent necessity. We raise our children in integrated schools, they eat Thai food, pizza, bbq, they dance to the music of the world. They're living multicultural, multiethnic lives - until they come to church.
How can churches respond? Nobody has a formula but, if the question compels you, if the longing for transformation pulls at your heart, welcome. Let's dream together.
